Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Last summer, it was really bad for me. I think I overworked myself on a daily basis with homework and spending time with my boyfriend and his family that I could not sleep. My mind felt like it was going and going and I could not relax. My grandpa also passed away last June, and that was a huge factor of it.
I truly appreciate your new found faith in God and simply looking to a higher power for guidance. I personally haven't done that for troubles with sleeping, and wouldn't say that was the cause, but whatever you feel will help. :)
Anyway, one thing I did last summer was I took melatonin at a certain time of night. Mine was always 2 AM. I would take it, lay in bed curled up in a blanket, and out of nowhere, I was waking up the next morning around 9-10 feeling fully rested and truly happy.
I would suggest calming exercises like deep breathing. I'm just learning to make a routine of that myself. But melatonin, at a small, small dose definitely got me through it. My only problem with sleeping now is the fear of my own bed/bedroom at night. So that keeps me up sometimes.
If you need to talk, you can message me. :)
