Well maybe this is stupid, it probably is, and I likely know the answer to it. I just really need to talk about it. I unexpectedly got a crush on someone a year ago. It hit me like a million pounds. Never saw it coming. I was just so enthralled by this man. Never asked him out or anything, but my feelings were raging inside. I enjoyed his company and wanted to be with him. I thought he was really special.
A few months later he saw me looking at him, and well, if looks could kill, I think he would have killed me. I thought he hated me. He just glared at me. I forced myself never to look at him again and my dad said to completely give it up. I did. Although I gave it up my feelings didnt change, and it was like a war inside me, like it was killing me. But I forced them away.
The sick part is that later, I caught him watching me all the time. But with the nasty look he gave me, I just could not put myself out there again. I figured it didnt matter if he was single or taken, for the outcome was the same: he clearly didnt love me back.
Everyone said he was single, even a few weeks ago. I thought: no, I think that is a lie, he says he is, but no. I figured he would show up with someone. He did today. I saw them together and they were joined at the hip. What bothered me? I looked up later, not realizing, and when he was alone, there he was totally fixated on me, watching my every move. Frankly it started to make me hate him. I think he is amused maybe, like there is that chick who likes me, too bad for her. No one else was paying any attention my way, yet I saw these eyes fixated on me. What an asshole. To be with someone else and acting like that. I cant respect it. I feel sick inside and want to cry but I cant. Ok, now I am falling apart. Ive been dating others, but those relationships arent working and I dont know if its so much that he doesnt want me and seems to think its funny, or that I cant successfully find someone else. I wish I could disappear.

Many of you know Mr K told me to "shut your mouth" in March 2025 when we took a road trip to Alpena Michigan. Since that time, we have had lots of ups and downs but I have never intentionally hurt Mr K in anyway. And when we first started dating in 2024 he let me know, although he is an engineer by degree, he has an extremely low EQ. Overall, he is ok (not off the charts nice like other guys in...

I my humble opinion the time came and went to have some sort of relationship with the person you are referring about.
The following is based on my own personal experience. I've in the same situation and in some occasions I was able to turn it around but for those occasions it went as far as a friendship, to make a long narration, in the end mostly than not these relationships fail.
You could vest yourself on trying to work something out so you can get it off your system, possibly to find out what this person thinks of you or what ever you need answer for so you can move on, just remember, you should not care what others think of you.
If you want to talk about it, I will listen.

So you do know him and have had conversations with him and have been around him, right? And he told you he was single, yet brought a woman with him today.
Hmmm... well, I've been in that situation before and it hurts. At first it seems exciting because you are in soaring on the highs of "what if?" and the excitement of analyzing every little bit of attention he shows you. You tend to read more into mixed signals and the final crash is brutal.
In hindsight, you could do one of either two things. 1) Let it go and move on (which I know that you are trying to do), or 2) the next time you catch him staring/glaring at you, go over and confront him and see if you can get some type of perspective on what kind of relationship the two of you have.
By doing #2, you'd at least have an answer (might not be the one you're looking for) but at least you'd have some closer.
To put it gently, it is easy to confuse feelings of infatuation with love. And also, this guy kind of sounds like a jerk.
Always easy to say when you are older (and maybe not) wiser!
Hope you feel better soon!
