Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I have been depressed since probably December. I usually get the winter blues and then feel normal when spring comes, but now I feel lower than before. I went through a breakup in Feb and maybe that made me sink deeper. I just feel so alone. I have a few friends here, but only one really close friend. But i only get to see her once a week, or every two weeks. I work, and come home to this empty house. I am constantly exhausted. I work normal hours about 30-40 hrs a week, but I feel like I work 60. Just no energy. Its hard for me to even keep up the laundry, cleaning, and yard work. I just don't know what to do anymore. I am an introvert, people do ask me to do things, but usually its when I've had a really long day and just want to be alone. I used to enjoy so many things. I loved to paint and kayak and ride horses, but now all that just seems like a chore. I am just scared I'm gonna end up being a crazy cat lady. I have 2 cats. And actually the guy I'm kinda dating called me a crazy cat lady in a round about way. And now it seems like he isn't even really that interested in seeing me. Idk what to do. I am just a boring shell of the person i used to be and I hate it. I remember a time in my life when I was broke and couldn't afford anything besides the bare essentials(which is kinda how it is now) but i was so happy and appreciative of everything i had. I was just happy to be alive. How do i get back to that mindset?

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...

Hang in there, I hope we all find our answers soon.
I commend you for helping with your grandparents. Dealing with their illnesses can be a factor in your "low times" as well. When you can, get out on your own, take a walk, watch a movie or do something to challenge your mind and refocus your thought process. As for me, I get on my Harley and ride, the smell of fresh air, farmers working the fields, etc. uplift my spirits. I don't know if you are on any anti-depressants but, if you continue to feel deep depression, you may want to see a doctor. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Depression can suck energy out of a person, so it is possible that depression is making your tired, and then by being tired you dont have the energy to do things that can lift you out of your depression.
IT is a viscous cycle, but then that is just what the daemons of depression strive for.
Sometimes the best thing we can do is to force ourselves to get out of the rut. Take up a new hobby, go out and be with people, the old stuff that you used to enjoy.
You can bounce back, but it will take time and energy!
Gentle hugs
This is a post I could have written, too.
I wish I had some answers.... at the moment I feel like I just live to come home to my cat.
Sending best wishes x
