My wife is divorcing me because she can't " deal" with my depression. She has sued me for spousal support and yesterday was court. I could not sleep the night before and was awake over 24 hours when it started. It was not at all what I expected. The judge did not take into account any of the bills that Terry has left me with nor did he take into account my ability to pay. All he did was take my salary, her salary, apply a formula and give her $1,100 a month in support.

There were some good things that did come out of it. The support is tax deductible for me and taxable for her. Her also made it very clear to her that she will not be able to just walk away from the shared debts that we have that I have been paying. He made it clear to her that she may have to pay back some or all of the support during the divorce to make good on the bills she has not contributed to.

I received an email from her this morning wanting to know if I was willing to start talking about bills. I guess she heard what the judge said!
