Christmas is my favorite time of the year. However, when my mom and dad died, I didn't enjoy Christmas for 12-years. Its only been these past few years I've been able to enjoy Christmas like I used to.

Time and understanding heals old wounds. And Christmas is a magical time of the year, full of love. I may not have a special someone to share it with, but thats ok with me, as long as I got myself and my health, its all good. lol

I went through a spell after my dad died where I didn't enjoy Christmas either. It always seemed empty and incomplete and though it will never be the same as before, I seem to be getting over it.

Its good to be able to feel happy and joy again.

I am really really happy for you. My mother now has hospice here in my home so I don't know what this Christmas holds for either of us. I just know that I have been blessed to have her for the past 80 years. I have to look at the glass half full. Hugs GB

I kind of feel like Christmas is being crammed down my throat this year. I can't afford to buy things, so I make them...But I feel a distaste in my mouth, because I don't believe in Jesus, yet I feel forced to celebrate his birthday. I know this will offend. this distaste mainly lies with my family (outside my parents). My parents are also non religious, so would agree with me. Every year the rest of my fam throws a huge fit because we want to opt out. It's just, we don't have a lot of money, so why force us to celebrate something that means nothing to us? If it was a day we could just come together that would be lovely. But that's not my family, they want to exchange gifts, then leave. It's all about presents..Me Me me, give give give give, I want I want I want... Ugh...Sorry for my vent....

December 25th...YEP the crazies are out......

I went and killed a perfectly good tree. dragged it guts feathers and all through the mud...then I threw it on my shoulders and packed it, Washed the mud and let it sit then when I heard the rain this morning I drug its carcass inside. I feel like a king with this dead thin in the corner I do!

I just hope the thing don't spontaneously combust if I can dodge another bullet then I am fine--- not doing so well----but fine!

Many people have forgotten what Christmas is all about. Christmas is not about gifts, at least not in the material sense. Christmas is about family, and love. Yes, it happens to be the day of Jesus's birth as well, but that doesn't mean you have to celebrate Jesus if you don't believe in him.

I wouldn't force that on anyone. However, family and love are important, and if people can't do that, then they absolutely do not have the Christmas spirit in their hearts. There are some really good Christmas movies to teach people about the spirit of Christmas and it doesn't involve Jesus.

I think people need to think long and hard about what Christmas is about. Yes, it always feels nice to receive a gift for Christmas, but you know whats better? The gift of love, love is all that matters. So if people can learn to do that, I will be happy.

My dad was in the hospital his last Christmas, died before the year was out. Some Christmases have been better than others since then. But it isn't just my dad I lost. My grandfather died on the 8th, my grandmother the 25th. It seemed fitting because she could be the perfect Mrs. Claus. She looked just like how everyone pictures Mrs. Claus

One year my family set a rule that you had to make all the gifts yourself. I loved it. I have always liked hand made gifts. Sorry you are so bummed out about Christmas I am not going to touch the spiritual side of this. However, your right, People have changed it into an all about gifts thing.

I lived with my Mom growing up. Their were 5 of us. Every year she would say, pick one thing you want, and make sure it is what you want because that is all your getting. We knew better than to ask for anything expensive. You know, those were the greatest Christmas I can remember. Now a days you buy for kids and they throw it to the side and don't even know what they got from whom.
