Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I know that there is no escape from my "nightmare"
Sometimes surrendering is better than fighting. I don't mean to give up...exactly. But I do find I get "through" the feelings better sometimes if I accept them and feel them instead of pretending they don't exsist or instead of beating up on myself for having them.
Often I just chalk my feelings up to depression when in truth they are anger or sorrow. If I'm honest with my feelings then I can confront them and deal with them for what they really are.
I am in enormous grief right now. Yesterday I allowed myself to be angry. It was just for a couple of hours. I actuallylost a "friend" over it becuase he was so disgusted with me. Last night because I had dealt with it as anger, alot of the bad thoughts and feeling went away. The nightmare of my life didn't but I feel better equipped to handle it today.
AND when one goes through these times they are unbearable it seems.
But yes, today is new and possibilities are new and you can try to enjoy the small things
