Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Keep track of when you are feeling down; what triggered it, even if all that triggered it is too much time to think, what time it was, where you were, what you ate and drank that day, whether you exercised, how much you slept.
Sometimes depression can be aggravated by not enough sleep, too much junk food, being alone at a time of day when you tend to feel vulnerable, not getting outside or exercising.
Lots of things effect our moods. It's not likely that these kinds of things are the main problem, but knowing what's going on physically might help you to battle it better. I'm still battling mine too, but I hope some of this stuff helps you get a handle on how to maintain better.
