Has anyone else taken Celexa and felt kinda "off"....I do not know how to explain it really.....it has helped with my depression, but sometimes I feel like my head is spinning or something like that....Its a really wierd feeling and hard to explain but it has been harder for me to keep up at work sometimes too....
Just trying to see if anyone else has had any side effect from it also...

I have been on celexa and it did not do this to me. I am on other meds that do though.

I was on 20mg of Celexa for about 2 years and had no problems, but it wasn't enough for me and my doctor upped my dose in November to 40mg. Since that kicked in, I have been incredibly "off". I can barely stay awake in my classes and have fallen behind. Overall, I just feel really weird. Kinda numb and out of it, like I'm not fully awake.

It is much healthier to take stimulant anti-depressants such as "Wellbutrin." SSRI's can negatively affect the chemicals in your brain and give you these symptoms. If "Wellbutrin" does not make a difference you can also try "Adderall." It is for ADHD but it also treats depression because it is a stimulant.

definitely. i got a lot of weird physical/mental symptoms when i was on celexa. i was so desperate to be rid of them that i stopped using it quite abruptly, which was a BIG mistake. if there is any reason you want to switch or get off of celexa definitely do it with a doctor's guidance and at a gradual pace.

also: for a small time i was taking celexa alone and then abilify was added on, so i'm not sure if that contributed to any of my side effects.
are you taking any other medications besides celexa?

i hadn't put that together but in the last month i've been SO very sleepy in the early afternoons. it's so hard to work when i can barely keep my eyes open.
