Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
you know this is your depression making you say those things. no PEACE OUT... you made me a promise and you better keep it. You WILL get through this dark place, I know you will.

Ever been in a fierce argument with somebody? Take a breath, think it over, and BAM, you can change your tone and look for peace instead of continuing the argument.
Walking past a person who is just sitting there and not saying or doing anything? You can walk on by silently, or you can reach out and just say "Hi!"
Going through a door and seem somebody rushing to get to the same door? You can wait a moment and hold the door for them to get through. Or you can go through and let them deal with the door themself.
Each situation gives us a chance to act in a kind and community way. The more times we act kind, the more we use our soul in a way that God would like us to. Bit by bit we remake our soul something better.
Continuing hugs.

I know I am not a member of this group but I felt I had to provide a different view, in addition to what you've been offered so far.
First off, that soul you want to give back is yours, God is not going to give it to someone else just because you think he should, due to bad usage. It was given to you and you alone, it is non negotiable.
Your soul is not an appliance you can return, it is a part of you but that's the good news. The words you are using to refer to yourself and the harsh comments regarding your life are sadly only yours, not God's.
God would never judge you as harshly as you have and by no means would take your soul away from you for having treated it so "abysmally". That would make God a petty tyrant and that is the last thing God is.
What needs to happen here is that you need to realize that what negative words you are either thinking or saying is the depression talking, not you. That you are owning these hyperbolic and defeating thoughts is an issue that can be solved by simply being aware of them.
Failure does not exist, if everything you do creates a result, where would failure be? That you do not like the results, that's another issue, all it needs to happen is a change in attitude.
I was diagnosed years ago with depression, I tried medication, zilch just made worse, nearly suicidal, then I changed therapists, this one taught me Behavior Cognitive Therapy where I learned to deal with my depressive (read negative) thoughts in a constructive manner.
I learned that it is not what happens to me that is the problem, but how I chose to view it, the problem was my perception of the problem or event. Say it was raining outside, whereas before I would allow that to ruin my day, I chose then to simply let it be the event, it is raining outside better take an umbrella, nothing else.
I know some of us cannot improve without medication yet medication cannot work properly if we do not help it along the way. So that adage of "change your thoughts, change your life" actually is down right true.
Now for the main point of my post: Every day is a new day, every day is an opportunity to start over, but we cannot ever start over if we keep bringing the baggage from yesterday. That is what we always forget and then we wonder why our lives do not improve.
You want a total do over? Then act like it, it is that simple. I had to do it to recover from a ghastly addiction. I led subsequent days like I never had it, did not speak of it, did not discuss it and when I would feel an urge to indulge, I would simply say, "every day and in every way, I feel better and better" 2 years later my life was back to normal but better because I had learned a lot from it.
God never gives us anymore than we can handle, seems trite but it is true. We never know how strong we really are until we are put to the test. I know this rather well, I have had some rather unfortunate events in my life where I felt like giving up and I ended up emerging from all of that stronger and better. God knew I could handle it, that is why I was given those challenges, I know this now.
My advice? Change your mind about who God is, the God they tell you about is not the real god that looks after you, cares for you, never forsakes you nor abandons you. That is the only God I serve. By serve I mean, follow his guidance. So instead of asking him to take back his gift to you. ask him to show you how you can make better use of your life. You'll be surprised at the answer but you need to keep an open mind.
Lastly, we cannot feel God's forgiveness until we forgive ourselves first. That's the law. You are God' beloved child and where ever you are, God is. When you truly grasp that in your heart and flesh, you'll no longer want to invite those negative thoughts to set house in your heart.
God keep you and guide you all of the days of your life,
Wolf
