I have been on Bupropion XL 150mg since January 20th. I also take .125 mg(yes that is half of half of a .5mg tablet) for three years. The first two weeks I was on the Bupropion XL were the worst (worsened anxiety), but that seems to have passed. I recently got a nasty cold and sinus congestion. Now this is not unusual except for the fact that I also have body aches (worse than usual). Has anyone experienced worsening body aches after going on Bupropion XL? I also hear there is a controversy over whether the Wellbutrin works better than the Bupropion (which apparantly releases into your system differently than the brand Wellbutrin. I'd appreciate any comments - thank you everyone!

I believe the XL releases slower than the SR version. I know this because I have tried both from an abstinence. The SR seems to come on much stronger so I prefer the XL. If you are splitting a pill to get a half of a half that is like rapid release.Rapid release was the first type of Wellbutrin back in 86 which was prone to causing seizures. I believe the coating on the Wellbutrin is more precise( better quality control) than on the generic Bupropion. I make sure I get the brand name. Check the patient literature I think it mentions flu like symtons as a start up symptom in some people. Then on the other hand you may have just caught a cold at start up , Hope this helps. Dan

I have had a good experience with Wellbutrin XL..had no side effects other than a slight headache the first couple of days..I did not experience any body aches on this med but did with other antidepressants I tried before..

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
