Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Yesterday my boyfriend was acting weird and it gradually got worse through the day. He was not saying things that made sense, he was saying things that didn't happen. He didn't know where he was or what he was doing half the time it came down to us having to take him to the hospital. His parents hung out with him until I could get off work to help. Due to his reluctance cops came and just put him in cuffs to transport to make things "easier" even though he was mostly cooperating. It took 3 hours to find out he had accidently overdosed on allergy meds (about 25) (I'm assuming he was taking them unknowingly cause he wasn't realizing what he was doing the entire day). The diagnosed him with bipolar psychosis brought on by stress. We recently found out about a week or two ago that his mother who has been fighting stage 3 cancer with chemo and radiation has no chance for surgery and will be taken from us in 6 months. I have never heard of anyone going into random psychosis like this that's never had it before and is unable to understand anything. I held him as much as I could in the hospital and had to use the bathroom before going back to work. Unfortunately because he wasn't understanding anything he flipped out when I left and I couldn't be let back in to see him anymore. I think it was mostly because I said i was going to the bathroom and then he tried following me and I turned to say it again but the nurse just shut the door in his face then he just started hitting the windows and freaked out. It hurt me so bad to see that happen and feel like I was abandoning him and unable to even say goodbye. They wouldn't let me see him and even called the cops to be escorted off premesis because I said I wanted to wait to see him. i felt like it was my fault just because I had to go pee... He got transported this morning and the supposedly the only place that had any availablility is 2 hours away from me. I went back into work that night and couldn't quick having a panic attack and I threw up everything I ate and just feel like I have a hangover without drinking. I just want to see my boyfriend.. I want to him to understand I'm here and he's not alone. I have a kid and I don't even know how I'm going to be able to pull myself together... I'm in so much agony
