Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Please use one of those numbers to call and talk to someone. They should be able to point you in the direction of a place where you can inquire about free counseling (or close to free)
good luck~
I am sorry to hear that you are feeling so bad. I don't know where you live but in some communities there are free clinic--or you can go to any emergency room. I am so lucky to have insurance to pay for counseling and medication. I recently saw a new doctor (Monday) and he made two minor adjustments in my medication and I am now feeling 50% better. I see him again soon and hope that after that I am 100% better. You just need to access some help in the community. Try calling the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill Chapter in your community---Tell them what you are going through and ask them how you can get some help. They are usually very good. You can also call 211 and ask for help. This is a 24 hour service via United Way. One other great resource is jo@samaritans.org You can send daily e-mails and will receive compassionate replies. Not really counseling but trained volunteers, many of whom, have either experienced depression or have counseling background. Keep writing and hang in there.
