I have this problem.....I take sponge baths and change clothes.
But showers are hard because of my size plus I just don 't care.
I 'm worst at washing my hair.
My arms get too painful.
I figure no body is going to get that close anyway.
I haven 't had a real hug in years.
Even tho I 'm built for hugs....soft and squishy.
I haven 't got many clothes that fit either....so I often have no clean clothes to put on.
I need to get some sweatpants for winter.
So...good for you.
I 'm afraid I 'm far away from that achievement.

It is wonderful to be making steps which help focus the day and get you into a good frame of mind.
I was so pleased that I washed the dishes last night again. I just did them and felt great. So congrats again and let us know what else works for you.

But, this has gone to the point where I felt like I need and I am ready for a positive change. So, USING this knowledge that to look and feel better will help emotionally and physically, I had to make a decision that I was ready to feel better and this is important to me now.
Robin, don't give up hope. Each and every small thing you do, think or feel on behalf of your well-being is valuable. Just sharing where you are right now is a good step toward self-compassion.
Please know, you are not judged, many of us have similar experiences, and our heart feels for you, and wishes for you to get the courage and strength you need to move forward in your recovery and happiness.
I think it all really starts in accepting ourselves where we are, even when it is not where we wanted to be.
Blessings to all.
