Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
My last relationship was 7 years ago. Im 26 now. That lasted 3 months.
then...back in December/January...was with one guy for 3 weeks (wooo, exciting) but a LOT of things hit the fan with that (too much drama for here and now) but lets suffice to say Im much better staying away from him.
But I did realize something. I LIKED being in a relationship. It was nice being able to have sex w/o going for a one night stand, lol. It was great having someone other than myself to care about. Knowing there was someone out there that would be calling me to say good morning.
and I think thats what pisses me off more than anything...was finding out I LIKED being in a relationship...Ive always been VERY loud about being fine with being single.
and...I think I went in the wrong direction with this...
but anyways...I hope you find what youre looking for, even if it is just for one night!
I'm of the opinion that being single sucks. Sorry to be blunt. I was much happier with someone than I am being single. I do not believe that you lose your independence when you are in a relationship, IF you are in a relationship with the right person. I don't think those in good relationships rely on each other to give them "meaning" or to make themselves "feel good."
I truly believe that a good relationship compliments ones life. It adds richness that can not be measured. I've seen this among some of my friends, although I have never had it, even when I was married. It adds a dimension to their life that others can actually see and feel. So in some sense, I do feel like without it, something IS missing.
maybe that was someone else.

It has been soooo frustrating since I dated Jon because when I was with him I realized that I liked being in a relationship - for many of the same reasons you listed. I was 100% content with being single... Hell I had embraced the idea of being single forever! But after experiencing all the goodthings a relationship can bring to your life... suddenly now I feel like there is something left to be desired..
Good for you for figuring out that you don't need anyone before you had had a bad relationship. I think it will help in the future to be able to be personable and get the one you want to be with.
