Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
It is far FAR better to to happier single than married and miserable.
Personally, not sure how I even feel about the notion of a proper "marriage." I'm not so sure it's natural or even desirable to commit yourself to a life-long exclusive relationship...
I'm not talking here about being tired of being single in the legal sense of being unmarried. I couldn't care less if I ever get married... but I'm getting tired of being perpetually single, ya know?
And I have to be honest for a second and admit that it almost entirely comes down to sex and intimacy. That is the main reason I have for wanting a relationship. Everything else is just a bonus, really.
I have friends and family for companionship.
I am quite capable of supporting myself.
What I can't get from myself or from my friends are two things:
1. Sex
2. Cuddling
And I am fairly sure that those are 2 things that adults are hardwired to want.
Now I am 41 and been basically single for the last 13 years.
Funny how life goes....
But what I'm talking about here isn't wanting to find a life partner or whatever... I'm talking about the here and now - because that's where I live. I'm really not worried about finding my perfect match or getting married or whatever... I'm tired of being single right NOW... because right NOW there are things that I want that I am not getting.
Get what I mean? I dunno.. maybe it sounds stupid to other people, but this is how I feel about it.
For me, my frustration with being single is more about physical, natural needs not being met than it is about emotional or companionship needs not being met.
I don't worry about my age. I'm 50...there are lots of 50 year old guys and older out there who look really good to me lol. But as I said...it'll happen when it's meant to happen.
