I've been out of work injured. The injuries are not work related. At least the physical ones aren't. I see my Psych Doc tomorrow. I will telling her everything. Including venting at work so bad that a coworker feared I was going to take someone out. It's not like me to be that way. But the stress of working in substandard conditions around things that can literally take out a whole crew of people is getting to be too much. The powers that be don't want to pay attention. And this stuff is documented. People are just not willing to take it to a level that gets things done. So it's just a matter of time before someone is hurt or killed. If that happens I feel compelled to do something very drastic. I don't want it to get that bad. I don't want to hurt anyone and I don't want any innocent people suffering because of theirs or my poor judgment. So I'm begging my Psych Doc for help. Please if you can spare a prayer it would be nice if it could go out to the folks at that power plant. They need all the help they can get. As for me I'm letting whatever gets decided on my behalf to be my way of not hurting anyone or myself. Thanks for your time and consideration.

I really hope you will stand up and take things as far as they need to go before as you have said, someone gets hurt. You included.

If things are really bad, can you send an anonymous tip to the press? Lots of news people love a scandal, and if you handed one to them on a silver platter they are likely to run with it.

You can even pick a trusted friend to forward the information to them in order to shield you.

Prayers to you, and to all your co-workers who are at risk.

You know how I feel since we've talked about all of this. I am so glad you went to the doc today. Ofcourse I am praying for you and everyone at the plant. I know this is causing you tremendous stress and worry. I like Pepper's idea. People's lives are at stake, including yours and that is NOT OKAY.

The plant is municipal owned. I am subject to rules regarding civil service. There are specific policies in place that keep us from going to the press without employer authorization. However after retirement I am free to go that route with supplied public information secured under the Florida Sunshine Law . It's all just beginning. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Thanks for your support and suggestions.

I am sorry that you are in such a tough spot. I can understand your stress and hurt and frustration.

Thanks everyone. Things will either improve or something will happen. It's just that there's potential for a real catastrophe. I'm literally saying that a major part of that place could become a big crater in the ground. They use massive amounts of hydrogen as a coolant in the generator. Pure hydrogen is no problem . Below around 92% we have a problem. And there have been hydrogen leaks. That's just one of several things that's been happening.

Could one of us contact someone for you? Having heard wind of lives being at stake, I'd be willing to call. Someone needs to look into this! Sorry you're in such a bad situation, sending prayers all will be well.

You got my thoughts and prayers. As for the state law saying a civil service employee can't go to the media, that law should be changed. And as far as Osha, which is governed by the feds, I would think that would trump the state law. If you send me the name of the plant in a private email I can see what I can round up, including Florida and Federal Law. Then we can take it from there.

Is the plant owned by Florida Power and Light?

The game plan has changed. I'm definitely going to retire and then pursue my options. This leaves them no way to come back against me.
I have someone already on the inside that is counseling me and will help with getting factual information. Hopefully this will improve things for the coworkers there that I care about so much.
