OK I am gonna be pissy ...... to everyone I say my sorries to you all but enough is enough......... getout why are you so mean spirited and looking for a battle on topics What the heck is wrong with someone sharing kids singing a song of our forefathers ... Just waht are you needing ??? I am lost ... maybe I am crabby becuase of the pain I am in ... maybe I am pissy because the day I have had ... but you seem to be looking to pick a fight every time I read your postings .... Please help me understand just what is it you are getting at or the point you are trying to make ? I am not bashing you are being mean to you I just get a weird vibe that you are picking scabs here if not please set me right

Druid, your are correct that "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" was written as a rallying cry for Union troops, but I think it's important to note that the Civil War ended 143 years ago and every state that existed at that time with the exception of South Carolina had Union regiments. In Texas, we sing both of the great songs, "Dixie" and "Battle Hymn." Granted, we sing them both with a Texian drawl.

A great man once encouraged the re-United States to "highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vainthat this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom."

This is a perfect opportunity to do just that.
