Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I worked my way back to being ok after my husband died suddenly in 2009. It took me 3 years to realize that I was ok. Then it took another 4 years to meet the love of my life. We became engaged in 2018.
Now he is critically ill with cancer. I will lose the best part of my life. I feel myself sliding back into the darkest time, and it will be worse now because I am so happy with George. We have only had 4.5 years together, not nearly enough time.

Sometimes being who we are, can be so healing for those that love us.
I'm sorry you are going thru this. Light and love!
