Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Good thing you got another chance at your job, hope the therapy helps.
It's a wakeup call for me. They have been more than supportive the last few years as I had one personal problem after another. I am a year to year employee. They didnt have to give me another chance. They could have fired me on the spot. The type of position I have does not have any kind of job protection at all. They have been truly patient.
Yes, so many times I've wanted to just quit, but I've done something like that before when I was much younger. I've gotten enough control over depression to not let it drive me to that again.
The last few years were nightmares: My mom died, my dad went in to dementia, pets died, husband left me, dad died,.....They have all been very supportive all these years. They have changed my duties a couple of times to try and help me and because I was dropping the ball. They never SAY that, but I know. They really have bent over backwards for me. We are getting ready to change software and it's going to be a crucial thing. Everyone is going to need to be on their toes. They didnt say this to me, but I know. I do feel I have taken advantage. Many times if I can only GET myself there I feel better.
