Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I was recently hospitalized for my suicidal thoughts. As much as I didn't want to go, it ended up being very helpful. I rested, people took care of me and life's demands were put on hold.
I agree with LittleSadie. Focusing on reasons to live helps me too. That might be harder to do if you're feeling low, but I'd recommend moving your thoughts towards that direction.
Today I decided I'd find a new reason to live each day. And that helped me get through the day. Remember that nothing is wrong with you. Im sorry If your therapist made you feel that way.
Then...
I developed anxiety...
Then...
I started having suicidal thoughts...
I never thought I would reach a point where I could rationalize suicide...
But I did...And I do...
I have three well thought out plans for committing suicide...
Not many people know that...But my therapist does...
And he told me...For me... It's okay....It helps me to have my thoughts and my plans...
Because when I go into a panic attack...My thoughts and plans are there...To comfort me...And to bring me down from my panic attacks...
Another thing I've learned...Is depressed or not...We can't control our thoughts...Thoughts...Good and bad...Are going to happen...
It's what we do with those thoughts that impacts us and others.
And finally...Your therapist is not you...And doesn't really know what is going on in your head... Don't be so hard on yourself just because of what he/she says about you...
Good Luck...
