I really want to become a christian, but it's stressing me out as I wait and also I'm worried that I won't actually mean it.

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. It's okay to just go along and be yourself. nobody just 'becomes' a Christian. Go along, spend some time, ask some questions, and see if it's for you. :)
Faith is not religion or following a church, but having a personal experience of 'JESUS CHRIST '' as lord, saviour, friend, healer, deliverer, its meeting him in Spirit and Truth.

Maybe go to a catholic church, or a nice Methodist church. Or a salvation army church. Do you have Union churches in your country? Lots of nice singing, supportiveness and comfort. Kind people being kind.
As confusing as it may be any body can become a Christian but not everybody has a Personal Relationship with God.
My friend giving your heart to God and confessing your sins is your first step.
According to the bible Romans 10:9
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
And as you proceed to live your life for God trials will come and so will temptation and because we are human we will make mistakes from time to time.
But if you'll trust in God and believe in his word he will forgive you while giving you his strength to make through another day!
Giving your life to God is the absolute best decision anyone could ever make and it sounds like your on the right path.
Be strong my friend!
