Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
i guess what makes it different to the physical discipline is that with the rest of your body, your mind can see it and treat it like an owner, imposing that discipline. whereas with your mind, you have a case of the owner trying to train the owner and things start getting weird :/
what i've found useful there is to take a detached view of your mind. this can be done through things such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, or my favourite, good old meditation. once you start seeing 'your' mind as a possession, you can assume the owner position and use the same discipline you've used on the rest of your body to train it.
btw, this is assuming you're well enough to be able to practice those methods mentioned. if you're way too low for them, gotta get the medication right first by working closely with your pdoc.
good luck and *huggles*
