I applaud you for resisting the temptation to be a part of the shouting and screaming. You can't always control the atmosphere you're in; but you can control yourself and you have done that!!
Staying out of the fight and just doing your job well is very powerful. If you can distance yourself from the emotions of others and just focus on the work you were hired to do, I think you'll do great.
I will pray for strength and wisdom for you.
