Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I had posted about my job the other day, just when I thought it could not get worse...yesterday my boss had a complete and total meltdown. She started screaming and crying at the entire staff during a meeting. I guess that she has cancer and she will need treatment, and while I understand this, I don't understand why they don't put an interim leader in there. She has been practically not in the building at all for the whole year. People are having a really hard time functioning. We worked a lot of overtime on Tuesday and it was mainly myself and two other people leading the parent night.
She blasted myself and a couple of other people in front of 20 people for "doing nothing all parent night" It was a 12 hour day of greeting parents and readying everything. She said we 'weren't big and fun enough." I actually said something in the meeting. I was so furious I couldn't even think. She accused us all of being snippy and not acting like a team, which is true. However, part of the problem is that everyone is in the dark and confused about everything. I knew she had health problems but I didn't know it was quite this bad. She then started crying hysterically.
I know this is very hard for her and I hope she gets well but I just don't think this is working for me. While I'm looking for work, I think I might ask for a transfer.
After this major scene, I woke up in the middle of the night sick. I had a fever and sore throat and was sweating, so I missed the first day of school and will miss tomorrow also. I dont' think she's happy but I don't know what to say...we absolutely can't go in sick due to Covid policies and because of her very fragile medical state. I'm still waiting for the Covid test to come back. The home one was negative. In the meantime I feel so sick but this incidentally gives me a couple of days. I think I will call my office to ask about other employment options in terms of a transfer or different position now that I have time to reflect. A recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn about a position, then didn't come to the phone meet. So disappointing.
I meet with a new therapist for a consult on Monday as the one I had has been flaking out. Will see how it goes.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....
