grrrrr!!
I just hope this tax doesn't spread . . .
I also left CA in 1994.....guess I should be glad :/
Cant wait till i get the fuck outta state.
It just riduculous we already pay for licenses and shots and a heavy fee if not spayed or neutered, we pay tax on thier food, we taxes for the very few dog parks available.
I wasn't aware the our Govenor is trying to recruit foriengers to come work here, there aren't enough jobs to take care of the people here, the unemployment is at the highest in 50 years, they have even cut back on public assistants.
We need to look at government expenses and try, when every possible, to obtain the revenue necessary to pay for those services from the people who use those services. WHEN IT IS FAIR. (Ha, another qualifier!)
We have a huge system of roads. I think they should be paid for by tax on gasoline! The more one uses the roads, the more one uses gasoline!
We all generate trash, so a fee to pay for the collection and "processing" of trash seems fair. (I think we do this in LA)
I hope that one net result of this fiscal problem we are having is that we get much SMARTER about how our governments manage money.
NO MORE UNFUNDED MANDATES! No matter how good the programs, none of them are free!
Make it easier for people to "do things themselves". We had a tree out front that was loaded with termites, but because it was a city tree only the city could cut it down. Such bull, all it should take is a simple city inspection, and a free permit to cut the tree down. Hell, I'd even have cut it up into pieces that could go into the "city compost bin".
Sigh, we are paying so much for stupidity.
