Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Knowing your sister's age may help us understand your dynamics with her as well.
Options change with your age, and vary by country.
I do believe in depression (and hate it with a passion!) as do the rest of us here. The best thing to do is to get an evaluation; how you do this depends a lot on your age and the country you live in.
Gentle hugs
Depression isn't easy for anyone and if you feel you might be struggling from depression I suggest you talk to someone ie: Therapist, Counselor, Family Physician etc...to get the proper care to help you better manage your symptoms of depression.
While we do not fully understand depression other then feeling sad and crying for no reason it is just as difficult for those around us to understand depression when they too have never experience or even been around depression themselves.
And because of lack of understanding many can come off as non caring and unsupportive until a proper diagnoses is determined and education made available followed by Therapy and Family Involvement.
One thing you can do is start a depression journal where you can track your daily moods and write about how you feel.
This is both informative and therapeutic.
Until then you might try speaking with your family your desire to seek professional help for what you've been experiencing and in the meantime there are plenty of websites on depression, symptoms and online test to familiarize yourself and become better educated with the illness.
Good Luck...
