Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I hope I'm not alone in feeling alienated by things people say. This is an experiment in venting useless "words of wisdom" we get from people in out lives that do not understand. The rules are
1. Short and sweet. Follow format of "upon (event), I was told .... " followed by a short reflection/retort for that offender.
2. When you post, you are LETTING GO FOREVER of the hurt caused by that comment from the offender, who obviously spoke before they thought.
3. When you post, you are forgiving yourself for thinking about it, and release it to never never land, where such things are forgotten.
It is my hope we will end up with a list of things we can share, not feel alone, laugh a little, and vow never to say to someone else! Cheers to all and here's my starter post.
Upon trying to discuss the grief I was feeling over a strained relationship withy daughter whom I have always been close to, my friend says, "just forget her. Put your big girl panties on and go make a new friend."
..... No problem... Do those come in amnesia color? Thanks for the help :) I feel better already......

Do you think anxiety is genetic or comes from your environment? What are your thoughts?

Many of you know Mr K told me to "shut your mouth" in March 2025 when we took a road trip to Alpena Michigan. Since that time, we have had lots of ups and downs but I have never intentionally hurt Mr K in anyway. And when we first started dating in 2024 he let me know, although he is an engineer by degree, he has an extremely low EQ. Overall, he is ok (not off the charts nice like other guys in...
A few days later the doctor saw the old gentleman with a sexy young woman. He said to the doc, "You told me to get a hot mama and be cheerful!"
The doctor replied, "What I SAID was you've got a heart murmur -be careful!"
Upon my mother coming off ventilation, dr says in front of her to the family present "you should do a Do Not Resucitate. It's Judy going to keep happening until she dies."

When my mom is angry she will tell me no one will ever want me.
So my retort would be perhaps you are worried no one will want you since you're alone and trying to push it off on me.
I have another Id like to send to never never land.
Upon any situation, someone saying "Just get over it"
My retort. If I could, I would. Then I will jump over the moon and have a tea party on Mars. Why do people confuse clinical depression with being depressed? If I could "just get over it" I already would have! To never land with you :)
