Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Not trying to offend but 2 types of posting just need to quit:
1: The "I Hate Suicide Posts" postings -- these ppl are crying out for help and should be able to do so. If you don't want to respond, then don't. It's as easy as that.
2: The "Too Many Posts on the Funny Threads" postings -- I'm really sorry, but I enjoy the funny posts as they are a help in my depression. Yes, I do understand it's frustrating to see only 3 posts on the crisis one and 100 on the funny one, but I'd much rather have ONE post on the crisis thread that meant something then 20 posts of bashing, which often starts somehow.
----
I don't want to offend, but I'm tired of going around and around here. And there are days when I feel so down I can't help in with the crisis threads because my negative energy has no place there or need there. I just want this to be understood. I am just tired of so much back and forth, as this is not a popularity contest. Any help at all is help and something to be said. If you are truly in danger, why not get a hold of a friend on here... or heck, even jump into the funny thread and tell someone you NEED to talk. Don't just post one thing and then walk away. If you need someone to talk to, seek out help! .....
Just some thoughts.
There is nothing wrong with it.
Posts like this come up a lot, and we all realize that sometimes, those funny ones get so many comments cus we are all looking for a release and they can go on for days.
A more serious posts might just yield a hand ful of responses for several reasons. One being that not many people are familiar what that person is asking. Like about meds, suicide and self harm. Others, get some of hte help they need in 5 posts, but then people go to private messaging or talking through hugs.
Posts totals are just too skewed to really say people arent getting help. I know a lot of people here all day, trying to help everyone and the same people several times.
I notice there are few to help and more who write posts.
