Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Had to face that I got old at 65 and my income was never going to go up. Tired of feeling that I am alone in this feeling and would like to hear from others. Trying to convince myself that I am lucky that my monthly SSI covers my expenses and medications but I have low points where i feel like i am the only one. In my life I dealt with these low points by purchases of "luxury" items when i should have been saving. New watching is the high point of my day and I find the commercials directed at seniors who did save very distressing. I did purchase a 2014 car and what I will be paying on it for more than 5 years is what I used to pa in rent. I have had a lot of buyer's remorse about this and try to tell myself it is an investment that will be my last car. The world no longer is a place where I can just go on and ignore the consequences of not being financially secure. I used to live without thinking of the consequences of my spending. Now, if I am frugal I can expect to save about $150 a month. My outstanding debt is $1000. and my budget takes into account paying $100 per month to pay off the debt. My insecurities tell me that even if I did not have this debt, I would find something else to be anxious about.
In closing I must admit too that I am lonely. Have been divorced for about 20 years and to some degree am upset that I never had children. I have seen married couples that don't talk to each other but I need to have someone share with and hug me when I need it.
It may seem juvenile for many that financial problems make me anxious and depressed but these feelings do sometime build to the point where I require hospitalization. Please someone tell me you share the same problems.

Scarf, scented soap, candles, bubble bath. Go walk around a park, gardens, lake. art gallery. Whatever you have nearby. I am married 28 years. I do get companionship. But no hugs when I need it. He isn't that way.
