I go to college and I have like one friend, my roommate. I hate being here. I've been here 3 years and everyine back home has already forgotten about me. I have no one to hangout with when I visit home and I end up lonely and depressed. At school my only friend if busy living her life and doing stuff but all i have is her. I'm alone here too. College was supposed to be my fresh start to reinvent me and become a likeable person who has friends and no past reputation but I can't fight who I am. I'm not enough for people.

I got an email from Kohl's that I had a 40% off coupon for today and tomorrow only. It took me about an hour but I placed an order and got some great deals. I have been wanting a new dress. I like dressing up sometimes. My birthday is coming up and I have dinner plans at a nice restaurant. But, honestly, I'm a little out of control again. I went through this in the fall. I bought...

Has anyone else noticed that clearly speaking and doing things intentionally is liberating because it helps combat the feeling of depression and a sense of hopelessness? Let me share a little more: in my experience, when those who have tried to project a hidden agenda that is obviously not aligned with integrity and well-being, it's best to be firm and speak clearly from self-awareness and...

I know the feeling of being alone, going to college to reinvent yourself. Take it one day at a time, you are good enough for people. It may feel difficult and hard, but talk to a student in one of your classes, it is a start. When your back home, have you tried to reach out to old friends see if they want to hang out. Take a deep breathe and say I am worthy because we all are.
To be succefull is how happy you are. Eventhough you get all A.s and have lots of friends at school. That does not mean you will do good at work and have enough money to live.
If you still want to finish college, There are books teach how to survives college. You can go to the school coucelor. Talk to your parent. See what they think.
I recall a great line from a movie, "No matter where you go, there you are." It means that you are still you no matter where you go; only the scenery changes. People like you and me have high risk of being lonely, possibly all alone late in life, because we aren't good at socializing and making friends. Are there any activities you enjoy? There may be a student group/club for it.
But talk to your parents before you take action like quitting school. If you have any passion for your subject you should finish up the degree in it. Something to keep in mind; if you did move back home, many of your old friends will have moved away or gotten married and wouldn't have time to hang out anyway. Part of what you are feeling is the transition into adulthood. It can be a painful and confusing time. What about asking around in your classes and see if there are any study groups that meet regularly? At least its something to do and you might make some friends. You said your only friend is your room mate. So you live in a dorm? What about others on your floor? Are there any building activities? Sorry, I wish I had more ideas for you. Truthfully I had the same problem in college. I do wish you luck.
