Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
i came really close to killing myself today. I don’t want to die, but I am having almost constant ideations, and the impulse is so intense. Even as I was making the noose and hanging it up, I knew I didn’t want to die, but I felt like I couldn’t help it. I feel completely crazy. I have been trying to see a therapist since March, but my insurance keeps giving me phone numbers of people who can’t see me, or don’t take my insurance (?), or have a month long wait. I actually waited a month to see one and she went out of town and told me to find someone else. I have not been telling my husband how intense my feelings are because I don’t want to scare him. I told him what happened because I don’t have anyone else to tell. I need a therapist and I just feel so sick of calling them and being told no. I wish someone would help me.

After work, I am taking a defensive driver course today. It is online and only cost $10 and it may save me as much as $300 on my car insurance. I got the information from my car insurance company. Little known fact about me is that I drive with two feet.

One day in August many years ago, the strings to our hearts were woven together in a magical and sacred way. They remained tied together though they were taken on a journey fraught with challengingdemons serpents and deep wounds. But still, they stayed tied together. They were torn apart and like a wound that leaves a scarthey cannot heal. They are broken. Ripped, callously slashed. The heart...

And as hard as it can be, I think it's important to be honest. There is no shame in feeling suicidal. The shame comes when you do nothing.

and there are local ones near you,, dont understand why your not telling your husband, you said you didnt want to scare him? god, think how he would feel seeing you hanging in a room when he came home. it would be much worse then scared. if he knew at least you have a person to talk to and help you find help, thats what married people do, they communicate with each other. not talking anymore is how relationships fail, it happens EVERY time. So really the first person to talk to is your husband,, then a therapist please do that in that order. people need other people when they feel this way, please dont do this alone unless you have to, but since you have a husband, there is no reason to be alone.
The ER is not advised unless you are truly injured ... if you go to ER because you are thinking suicide ... you will probably only end up with a huge ER bill. They don't DO suicide PREVENTION. Go someplace that does.
Like you said ... I don't think you WANT to kill yourself. The problem is the persistent ideation. That will take a therapist to get involved.
Further .. I don't think Husband or Mom doesn't care. I think they have NO CLUE what to do ... and how would they? Take this problem to the medical profession ... who CAN help you.
Suicide is a VERY bad idea ... for the victim and a hell of a lot of other people.
