I thought this forum could use some humor, so this is what I had to deal with early this morning.

Basically, the day started out as a war between my manx, Oscar, and myself...

It all started at approximately 6:30am, when my husband got up for work. Apparently, Oscar jumped over the gate blocking him from the kitchen and 1. ate one of those bags that are packaged along with raw meats. This caused him to 2. puke all over my favorite pair of shoes. Immediately upon doing this, he then 3. got a turd stuck up his butt. Since Jason was off to work, it was my job to clean him up. Now, I would just like to point out that Oscar is an enormous, muscular cat whom like most cats, hates water. He has the head of a cantaloupe and knows how to fight. So, we had ourselves a war in the bathtub. Finally, when I was just about to finish up his bath 4. 'CHOMP'. The bastard bit my forearm as hard as possible, leaving one hell of a deep puncture in my arm. It will not stop oozing. At this point, I was ready to go back to bed, but couldn't due to my arm. So, I get up just to find out that 5. Oscar pissed next to the bed.

Well, at least the furball smells like strawberries...

I would just like to point out that Oscar is now lying on the computer desk with his paws hugging my arm while purring like mad. Trying to be all lovey-dovey as if nothing happened. He really is cute as hell, but he is a bit of a devil. The hugs around my arm would be sweet if it wasn't for the fact that he is trying to knead the spot where he bit me.

Anyone want a manx?

I don't mean to 'butt in'. It is my understanding that a cat bite is MOST OFTEN extremely serious. Much more than a dog bite (not sure why). I know of several people who treated a dog bite with a little antiseptic and a bandage, and others who got bitten by a cat and almost lost a limb.
I REALLY urge you to consult a physician .. quickly!!! You might google 'cat bite' to verify the risk .. it is my understanding a cat bite is often/usually a very serious wound.

Wanderingvet- Thanks for the concern. It is the first time Oscar has bitten me, but according to my husband, Oscar has bitten him numerous times and he has been alright. I WILL admit that in my opinion, it looks swollen and possibly infected. I have cleaned the heck out of it with Bactrin, but if it starts aching, I will likely go to the ER. It is sore when I move my wrist and is, not to gross you out, oozing a clear red discharge. Unfortuantly, I lost my insurance recently, but I am cleaning the wound constantly and looking out for infection.

I don't mean to be an alarmist ... really .. but if you look at the links, you may realize your risk and the urgency. I will say no more than the risk of serious, long term, very dangerous infection is HIGH .. as well as an urgency to get treatment. Your symptoms indicate a rapidly 'moving' infection. I think this is a veritable emergency.

Kuno...I am sure your wound will be fine....MOST household cats dont carry infection to worry about, unless your immune system is at risk from drugs/illness etc.

I am sure MANY of us cat owners have been bitten by our cute darlings......lol

Just remember....they own us and can do as they please.....:-)

One of my cats bit me right thru my thumb nail years ago. Never had an issue. I also have been scratched many, many times and never got an infection from my cats.

i have had dozens of serious cat bites over the many years of "owning" them and have never had one become infected. keep it clean and you should be just fine.

No, sorry, I don't want a manx. But I hope the bitemark clears up for you nice and fast. I have had both kinds---worrisome and not so bad.
So I understand.
