Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Keep a notepad or journal box on your nightstand. Each morning before you get out of bed write one thing you are thankful for.
When you begin speaking to yourself negatively, as yourself, would I ever speak to someone I loved like this?
All the best!
Healthy thinking is the hard one. That, as mentioned, means "thinking down" the bad thoughts and "thinking up" the good ones. Being optimistic when you don't feel optimistic, smiling when you don't feel like smiling, looking for good things in life when all you feel is the bad things. Recovery takes tremendous effort and commitment, and that is what we do because life can be wonderful, and we want our piece of it.
DS members will try their best to help. Use us for support and encouragement. You can win out... with commitment and hard work. Good luck.
