Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Exercise has now become my outlet of choice for externalizing anything that may be pent-up, and it's great. Bike-riding, 20 minutes of elliptical at the gym, an hour or so of pushing weight, then bike-riding back home. Purges the very core of my being, and helps me relax after.
For me, the way I guess I most confronted it was to work with other victims to help them and try and stop it happening....
I would say yes it may be typical.... I speak softly, people see me as "calm" but that is only because firstly I don't want them to hate me and secondly I don't care about many things that seem to make other people angry, I have more important things.
I am very closed and think I have a "mask" of normality and have so long, I find it hard to know who or what I am, I live for others and just feel like "I" was lost when I was a child and I have no idea who or what I am....
I don't know what the answer is.... sorry, just sharing and saying you aren't alone...
I am seeing a psychologist, well two soon, one for general things the other for childhood things... who knows hopefully one day I will get "better"
(very powerful picture you have chosen too, in many ways I find the monk inspirational, I wish I could believe so strongly in something)
