Yeah, I have. Don't freak out. There are things which can cause this that aren't really that scary.

I actually have a friend who's NEVER had one come back normal! And they've yet to find anythng wrong with her.

They called mine dysplasia and told me it was nothing serious, just something to monitor. Same exact thing they told my friend.

All you can really do is wait for the results of the next test to come back. In the meantime, if it makes you feel better, start takng Folic Acid...it's a vitamin that's supposed to protect and heal the cervix.

Try not to panic they gave me a second pap and it came back normal. Think positive until the results come in, I know it is hard when it is out of your control. Try to keep busy.

I am the same as the others here. I have had abnormal and then had a second come back normal a couple of times with absolutely nothing wrong. I know it is scary but try not to dwell too much on it

I've been there recently...as in a few weeks ago. I have HPV from an ex boyfriend (who actually just left me) I was also very scared as I could have really used the support from him. It wasn't too bad, I just have to go back to get a check up six months. If there is something, they will be able to treat it right away..could also be nothing. Take deep breaths and it will be over in no time!

Me too. (missin* 2 letters, sorry). Mine came back sayin* "rare atypical cells." I was very worried. I *ad a procedure called "cryosur*ery. T*ey froze t*e bad cells so t*ey would die off. I've papped "normally" ever since and t*at was nearly 20 years a*o.

Yup, I am going through it right now. I want to know why its abnormal and no one has really told me why! Hmm..

this has happened to me also. actually, mine have come back as abnormal every year for about the last 6 years. i have to get a coloscopy each time, but they never find anything wrong. and even if they did- as long as they catch it early, it's easily treated. so don't stress!

Well my best to you as you find out more. I wouldn't think the worst. I'd put my mind on a brief vacation for awhile. Don't stop living by giving it all to worry. Use distractions and live in the moment. Mindfully enjoy a nature walk or when you watch tv just watch tv..bring your thoughts back to the tv. Help others and take the worry of yourself.

You can take steps to tolerate uncertainty. I believe that all will be well with you or something easily managed.

It IS really scary, hon...and I had no one to help me, no one to talk to when I had my first abnormal one back 15 years ago.

And get this: They advised me to remain as stress-free as possible, because that can increase the chances of abnormal paps and increase undesirable cell activity.

Holy shit!?, were they kidding??? I was a wreck.

The biopsy procedure I was ultimately advised to have done involved some freezing with a local anaesthetic; and a bit of tissue removal. It was uncomfortable, but not terrible. I had a wonderful nurse practitioner who stayed with me through it. She was great.

I haven't had any abnormal results since then.
