Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Some people write their feelings down on paper and hand that to the therapist. Perhaps you could do that next time. You can start with what you wrote here.
I did OK with the first anniversary of my mom's death, but then I was hyperfocused on my father (who would die about 3 weeks later) so I did not really confront it. This year, when the second anniversary hit, all i could do was write a note about the day, and hand that note to my wife. Sometimes that is all it takes, writing a note and handing it to the person you want to talk to.
