Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
My black-ghost knife fish was the same, they can even be trained to swim through fingers. Goldfish have been trained to play a rudimentary game of football and fish memory is surprisingly long.
I didn't mean any offence by this question, just really confused. Meat is meat is meat.
Which makes me wonder about fruit. We eat it's flesh, in the same way of another living thing but apparantly it's fine.
All very baffling to me.
I don't care what the animal is... we are a smart enough species to recognise the suffering, stress and pain of an animal (whether they have a nice personality or not). So when we need to kill something to eat it, then out of respect and compassion we should cause it as little suffering as we can. That's a no brainer to me - but sadly a big percentage of people don't get it. (???) I also think that applies to the time they spend alive too.
So personally, I only eat free range if I can (I've been to see the farm where the cows I eat come from - its gorgeous, ideallic and they have an extremely comfortable and natural existance), and if I can't - I hassle suppliers and govt ministers by letter about getting on board with cruelty free and humane practices. An when we go fishing, I make sure we kill the fish immmediately by Ike Jimi (instantaneous) instead of leting it slowly 'drown' in air.
Eat meat, but be humane. Suffering is no fun, we all know that!
