Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Take things one at a time. Nothing has to be done all at once.
Nothing wrong with a good cry either. It well might help to lift off some of the burden you feel that is riding on your chest and shoulders.
Your hubby may be upset for now, but he'll get over it I'm sure.
Please take the time to turn some of the nurturing care you rain on your family, and rain some on yourself as well.
First item on your to-do list? Please call your doctor.
if it's been five years on cipralex, i would say it's about time to change meds... most meds stop working after some time, and if this one has worked for you for 5 years, you had a long run on it. no shame in changing meds... this is just one of the things we have to do...
I don't think you should try to push yourself to do more than you can right now. Only the things that you absolutely need to do. Focus on getting in to see your doc and have your meds tweaked so that hopefully you won't feel this way much longer.
Take good care!!! I hope you're feeling better soon!!!
But to repeat ... crying isn't a weakness ... it is a healthy outlet ... I'd be more concerned if the tears had dried up ... I had always told my loved ones who worried when I cried ... don't pity me my tears, rejoice in them with me as it means I'm still feeling
It is a sign of strength when we know we can't do it on our own and we reach out for help.
Thank you all so much for 'allowing' me to feel so sad.
It sounds like you have a plan to call the doc and get the meds adjusted, and I think you are on the right track. (((((((hugs)))))))
