A leopard can't change his spots

A leopard can't change his spots is what we're told. So, even if my dysthymia were to lifted I'd still be the same person? So, what's the point as I'll only go back to where I was, but by a different path? The only difference this time would be that it's self-inflicted this time.

A leopard cant change his spots in the same way you cant change physical aspects of yourself. But you can change whats inside, human beings are never at rest, constantly shifting and changing.

Agree but people can change only if they want to.

A leopard does not want to change his spots even if he could. His spots are part of his arsenal/defense in the animal kingdom.
