I've been taking zoloft for 3 days. I was wanting to hear from anyone who has experience with this drug esp about any stomach upsets. I was on prozac for 5 weeks and it made me feel nauseous the whole time and gave me diarrhoea. I had been on effexor 300mg for about 5 years and I've just discovered it was not doing anything. I stopped taking it for a month and it made no difference. Didn't seem to help much with my depression and anxiety . How long before i should expect any results from zoloft? I'm in a bad way at the moment. I even considered going to hospital but i rang the mental heath team and they thought i would better off waiting for the meds to kick in as there's not a lot they can do for me in hospital. I can barely function and spend every day in bed. Sometimes can't even shower or feed myself for days

Zoloft can take 1-2 weeks to kick in. For some, it's a month. Are you integrating talk therapy into your treatment regimen? Meds aren't always the magic fix.

My boyfriend has been on Zoloft for about 3 weeks now and saw improvement. I noticed a change for the better. But, everyone is different.

Yes im seeing a psychologist weekly and psychiatrist monthly. I'm in the middle of a very difficult med change as effexor wad doping nothing for me and the prozac they tried mate me feel very sick. Was worried that zoloft might do the same thing

Yes, everyone is different. I tried Zoloft and it did absolutely
nothing for me, it was like taking a sugar pill.
Hope it works for you, gotta give it a month at least....

Zoloft did make me very sick, but that does not mean it will do that for you. If it hasn't made you sick yet, chances are that it won't.

BRAND ZOLOFT IS NOT THE SAME AS GENERIC ZOLOFT.
I WAS TAKING BRAND UNTIL MY INSURANCE COMPANY CUT MY FUNDING.
NOW I M ON GENERIC ZOLOFT AND ABILIFY.
THE BRAND KICKED IN AFTER 11 DAYS.
MY STOMACH WAS UPSET FOR TWO WEEKS.
JUST RECENTLY I WENT INTO DEPRESSION/ANXIETY AGAIN.

Thanks survivor69. I checked with the chemist and the rules in Australia are different to the rules in America. The generic brands by law must have the same amount of active ingredient. The brand I'm taking is simply called setraline. Its only the packing ingredients that are allowed to be different

Zoloft is one that I have never tried. I have heard good and I have heard bad and as I always say, we are all different in our body chemistry so different pills are going to affect us differently. I hope you have really good luck with them. Let us know how you are doing, okay? Hugs GB
