Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Being assertive is the key for me. I ask them point blank why they felt they had to use vulnerable information about me against me. Ask them what they are gaining by it, especially if the assualt was done in front of others. Ask them point blank in front of the same people at the same instance. Watch them cower down. You don't have to be mean about it yourself, just assertively ask them honestly what they are wanting to gain by treating you this way.
This usually stops the meaness in its tracks. Also, most often, it eliminates them from interacting with you again in this manner. And, we don't want to interact with them anyway if this is the behavior they manifest.
Hope this helps some.
Hate that you were treated this way and only added to the depression.
Hope you feel better very, very soon.
