i think you came up with the right idea give her the party but hold the gifts and money until shes doing better. in saying so i dont realy know the child, at that age i was rebbelious and would have gone out the window and had fun with friends anyway

I think that's a great idea too. You can donate all of the party supplies already bought and donate them to a school or shelter (my class once sponsored a homeless women's shelter and donated party supplies- they had a fun, stress free night and really enjoyed it).

Would still have the party anyway as it was for the celebration of her birth not, a reward for a good report card. Surely the mother must reconsider not only for her daughters sake but, for all the invitees and, the losses they endured. Lol I would threaten to have mom reimburse me for all financial losses that, I endured due to her cancellation.

well, the guests do not deserve to be left in the lurch like that.

I understand where the mother is coming from though. I don't think a kid who gets all Fs (in the USA??) deserves to have a huge party.
