I got a new counselor at school. I went last week for my first individual session with her. Without my girlfriend. My session was cut short. I got about 35 minutes. Ten of which she spent asking me, 'Are you sure your a lesbian?' and 'When did you decide to be a lesbian?' It was really upsetting. I don't want to see her again. But I don't know if I should go in and request a new counselor. Things are about to change drastically. My girlfriend is dropping all her classes and going home on Saturday. She doesn't know when she's coming back. We've lived together for four years. I don't know how I'm going to feel, waking up and not being able to see her everyday. I guess I'm just feeling a little lost and dazed. Confused as well. Ugh...

Counselors are not supposed to do that. You can ask for someone that is supportive of the LGBTQ community. If they don't have anyone there maybe there is place in your area where they are supportive and go by a sliding scale fee. I hope that helps.
