Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
My friendships seem to come and go. For awhile they might be close and good, but there always seems to be a falling out or something eventually. While they last they feel good - be connected.
I am truly happy when I dance or exercise really hard and accomplish a physical goal. I had a goal to hike 6 miles by the end of the summer and to hike this mountain in our area (6 miles), and I made that goal yesterday. It put me on cloud 9! Now I have to watch it, though, because if I don't keep the momentum going, I will slide right back into a depressed state. It takes constant work to manage my depression, and some days I am not successful.
Hope some of this helps.
Having a true friend is wonderful because you know he/she won't judge you and turn their back on you when you need them the most. They sometimes turn out to be your real family.
