Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Yesterday was a bad day starting with not feeling up to taking my trash out. My day sucked, for the most part. Around 6:30, my Aunt called about the tornado. Then she said she needs me to come over so that she can pay her rent and she needs grocery money. Months ago, I nearly had a nervous breakdown, or maybe I did have one, mostly over my Aunt but also some other factors in my life. I have been dealing with her crazy, annoying, depressing, demanding, stubborn, lying self since 1995. I could go on and on about my problems but this is long enough. I know all about boundaries but I don't get respect when I say no.

Does anyone follow her? She's really got some good tips.
The only respect I get when I say no to difficult family members is the respect I give myself lol
I've been in similar situations to yours and I know it's not easy. Hang in there and remember to always take care of yourself.
Learned about that after she died. She would have been upset and never understand why I said no. But I would have been better off saying no more
often.
Sometimes medication can cause mental problems in older people. If it is medication or not you have to protect your mental health.
