Every single day my pups are one of the best "medications" I could ask for! They love unconditionally, always accept me as I am and often give me a good laugh!

I find that pets can be very therapeutic. I do not have dogs, but I have a few cute little pocket pets all of whom keep me company and help keep my sanity in check. They are the most darling little squishy rodents one can come to love.

My cats are a big part of what kept me going through the rough times! As Boisedogmom said, they're one of the best "medications"!

My cat is my best friend. But unfortunately I see myself even lashing out on her. When I come home from work I am so emotionally soul sucked that I sometimes snap at her when she jumps up on my lap. I'm terrible D:

I love my cat & dogs. they are great my cat will "talk" back when I talk to her my puppy brings me his toys and my older dog lays nect to me so I can pet her. they are the best,

I think I would be lost without my dogs. I have an older beagle, who loves to just lay by me and let me pet him, and a young beagle pup, who loves to play, but when I get depressed she will not leave my side. I know for myself, medications are a requirement even with dogs, but they most surely make my life better. When I get depressed, they are quite often the only reason I get out of bed!

I have a 4 year old dog and I think she keeps me a little more balanced. I really don't know if I would be here without her as crazy as that is to say. I think it helps me because she needs me to take care of her and she is full of love. I just know I could never do anything to myself because I have no one that I trust to take care of her.

There is something about the unconditional love you receive from a pet... There's just nothing like it. I have a 3 year old cat who I rescued from a shelter when she was a baby. I love her so much! Every time I walk in the door I can hear the little bell on her collar as she comes running down the stairs. I'm so glad I have her in my life :)

My Dog, Axel. He's 13 in December. He mostly stays indoors and watch over us. Although in recent times he more watches over me. To be honest with you, I'm also scared of loosing him because of his age. I'm always anxious, wondering when will his time come.

Animals are fantastic! I have a border collie, who is my saviour.
I love the fact that they give unconditional love, always there for a cuddle my dog is better than any medication!
I also have a cat...... She's a stroppy cow lol can't fuss her at all. Actually you can't even touch her, she hates it

Dogs are a very good thing...... personally I am a huge fan of doxies. But I guess any dog that makes you feel loved is a net good.

Yes! I lost my cats and then broke up with my best friend, had just moved to a new place and was feeling isolated and alone. Then I adopted a puppy and he pretty much helped save my life. He needed me, even if everyone else didn't. Gave me something else to focus on in my life besides my own misery and feeling sorry for myself.

uselessme, my doggy is a doxie + chihuahua. A chiweenie! I've never owned either breed before and have learned they make one hell of a trouble maker when mixed. But he's still my spoiled baby and I love him :)

Definitely. I have a cat that has helped my depression.

My wife and I have four cats. I think on balance they help our depression but we are both extremely allergic and I think sometimes that exacerbates our depression symptoms. It certainly affects our mood and can make us more fatigued and lethargic.

We've made a decision not to have children so our cats are our kids. My wife and cats are often the only creatures that bring me any sort of joy.
