Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I am sorry for the loss of your cousin. You haven't failed your daughter, you are still here and still fighting that to me means that you are achieving siomething vitally important!!!
She has a person she knows will be there no matter what and that is more important than the latest games console or clothes etc
Family is the most important thing in the world. Your daughter being your priority means you are doing exactly what you should be doing, and giving her love and doing your best for her is all you need to do. Hold your head up high. I'm sorry for your loss in your family, and for your plight right now in this horrible economy. I hope it gets easier for you. In the meantime, you come ramble all you want. It helps.

Finding jobs aren't easy and I understand the feeling of worthlessness however you are worthwhile and will make any company glad to have you on board. Keep looking for work as you are not someone who just gives up. As Wu says, hold your head up high as you are doing you best in a very difficult situation.
Self compassion - you are allowed to be kind to yourself. Don't be hard on yourself.
Loss of youth and loss of family can hit you when you least expect it. It is fear of loss and yet don't get caught up in the cycle, grieve and accept and keep on always moving.
One of the reasons people are depressed is that their brain is caught up in a cycle of Loss, Fear and Isolation. Avoid going into that cycle when you grieve for your cousin and your youth. Don't isolate yourself, connect with yourself and other people by doing the opposite of depression - creativity.
Sorry now I'm rambling.

In my experience 99% of the people that go to those things exaggerate about how cool their lived are and how very wonderful they are too.
Don't believe me? Check out how many of the brand new luxury cars in the parking lot have rent-a-car stickers on them.
Please don't ever call yourself worthless, that word just gets on my last nerve when people call themselves that. You haven't failed anyone, you are doing the best that you can with what you have. I am sure a lot of people didn't go to their reunions either for fear of not having that big ole house, or fancy car. Or maybe they have gained weight and don't want anyone to know, or they just feel that they will be the ugliest girl there. Well, what they have forgotten to realize that those things aren't important. Here I am, you, at your reunion. You have a beautiful daughter that you could probably talk about for hours... and with a big grin on your face to boot. Nobody has to know that you are not employed at this moment. You are just in between jobs at the moment. period. You are taking the right steps with a therapist and medications if they help. What more can you expect from yourself? You ARE asking too much of yourself, that I can see. I'm sorry that you lost your cousin. 2 days ago or 20 years ago, you were still family and it can be hard. Try to remember any of the happy moments in the years that you knew him, even if it was when you were little. Let your aunt know how you are feeling and give her a big hug and kiss and let her know she is loved. That is what she needs right now more then anything. I hope you are doing better since posting. If not, post again and we will see what we can do to support you.. Whatever it takes to get you back up and not down.
