Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

There are some members of the depression group who are also active in the bipolar group, and may have a good perspective on your question!
talking to much, breathless
spending money on things you can't afford
bad judgement
unexpected divorce with no reason
These are just a few of my less severe symptoms. I also see things, smell things and am paranoid.
Lack of sleep (up for like days, litterally no sleep)
Full of energy
Excessive cleaning
Some anti depressents bring out mania, not with everyone that is why bipolars are closy watched while on them...
Mel Gibson
There is a "Jekyl and Hyde" duality to the personality; one minute top of the world, goofball, funny, eccentric, full of life, then sink into meagers, sad, depressed, then get downright mean. Mel attempts to medicate it with alcohol, with, of course, disastrous (and dangerous) results. Amazing he hasn't already tried to off his ex-girlfriend. Suppose he should get on meds for it too.
Jim Carrey, reportedly, is manic as well, and goes through the same cycle.
So, if you're looking for celebrity archetypes to illustrate the disorder, look no further than there.
