Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Ideally, the strategy is to line up another job before you leave that one, but if you're really that unhappy, ain't feeling the love or a sense of fun, and have enough money to get by for a few months while you look for another one, yeah, take some time off before you get physically sick. Just don't allow wonderful home life to make you lazy.
I am however just going to look for a different position elsewhere in the company. I spend most of my life with the same people at work and see no reason that needs to miserable.
All my energy goes into work, when I get home I am done. My days off I spend crying and trying to find spurts of energy to gt some things done.
My job has always been a source of inspiration for me, and unfortunately the only source for me. I can't afford for that to go away.
Good news, I made operational associate of the month for April. Bad news, nobody told me. I just noticed the award on a wall a couple of days ago. Further proof to me that I excel at my job, and the people around me resent it, including my bosses who couldn't congratulate me on the honor.
Not many people like HAVING to work.
BUT I want you to know:: I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL!!
I was working in telecommunications for two years. I remember saying, I love my job. This year had changed. It may have been because this has just been a tough year for me, but I couldn't handle going to work anymore. Last month, after having the weekend off, I just didn't go back. It wasn't the best decision I made, but at that time, I felt that it was best for me.
Sometimes, even though it doesn't seem like a good idea, we have to do what is best for us. If you're not okay, you're not going to be able to preform your best at work.
No one can really tell you what to do, because you're going to do what you want anyways. But I will say that from my experience, quitting may not be the best option. Maybe there is someone that you can talk to at work. I found out after I just didn't show up any more, that I could have taken a leave of absence for up to 90 days. I kind of wish I would have known that. But I think you should really look at all your options.
