Depression - Teen Support Group
Teen depression is marked by persistent sadness, discouragement, loss of self-worth, and loss of interest in usual activities. Depression can be a temporary response to many situations and stresses. Teens may be more susceptible to depression due to the normal maturation process, the stress associated with it, and conflicts with parents as they become more independent.
I know exactly how you feel, it's hard to feel so strongly for someone and then have them mess with your emotions and play you. But you have to know that it's not your fault. You had no way of knowing what would happen. Sometimes we get so caught up in our emotions that we say things we later on regret, even if they weren't exactly negative things. But think about this; wouldn't it have been a lot worse if you actually did love him? The funny thing is that guys will say I love you to so many girls without even meaning it, just to get one thing. But if a girl says it and doesn't mean it, she completely hates herself for it, which is hardly fair. You might have made a mistake in saying you loved him, but you can't hold it against yourself. At least now you've learned not to say that unless you know you truly mean it. If you don't love him, he's not worth crying over, and he's not worth feeling sad or depressed over. Chances are you probably regret spending so much time on him, so don't spend anymore time feeling guilty or depressed because of him. He won't be the last one who hurts you, but one day you'll find someone who will be the first that doesn't. Keep trusting, and stay strong. :)
